Do Nothing

Sometimes we all need to take a 'time out' to recharge our batteries and refocus. It can be 5 mins, a whole day, or a week vacation. Whatever it is, taking time to do nothing is great for the mind and soul. So if you're feeling overwhelmed or stressed, just take a breather. Everything will seem a little better once you do.

SALT 'n peppa

Angelina Jolie is AWESOME is her newest blockbuster...SALT. I've been looking forward to seeing this movie and I was not disappointed at all. I've always enjoyed Jolie in movies but this one takes her to a whole new level. She is a total BAD ASS in this one.

The movie has a great plot...definitely kept me guessing...and I really want to see it again. I can't imagine any other actress playing a 'suspected' Russian spy like Jolie. Added bonus...girls and guys will love this movie. Great solution for date night!

Get Outta Town!

Last Friday, I was lucky enough to take some time and get out of the city to spend a few hours in the country. It was sooo relaxing! Just sitting by a lake, listening to the wind and nature, watching the sunset. AMAZING!!! Sometimes I forget to slow down during the craziness of everyday life and just appreciate the little things. It's so wonderful how a few hours outside on a summer evening can renew your spirit.

Cha Cha Cha Cha CHANGES

I haven't been able to post for a few days because I've been MOVING!!! Yup, I'm all moved into a new place with Brock. New house, new town, and hopefully soon a new job. *Keep your fingers crossed*


Changes can be exciting, scary, and sometimes hard to handle but its all about embracing the new and remembering that life is always changing. If we didn't evolve and change, life would lose its excitement!


So bring on the change! Bring on the adventure!!

Summer Trend - Barbie Lips

This is a summer trend that I think is sooo fun and cute! Its a little funky and maybe too 'out there' for some but I think its really fresh and looks great on all skin tones. From Bubblegum to Hot Fuschia, I am loving the change from bright red lips to PINK!

 

I love how these are two totally different shades of pink but both look so beautiful and summery! Plus they both have really matte lipstick on so it doesn't look overly glossy and cartoon-ish.

And Rihanna always takes the coolest fashion and makeup risks and looks amazing!! I'm also loving her eyeliner with that touch of blue. Gorgeous!

Pyrrha

Pyrrha is this really interesting jewelry line started by a couple in Vancouver, Canada. They are self-taught jewelery makers and were originally inspired after stumbling upon a box of wax seals. Their signature pieces are talismans made from these 19th century wax seals. Each seal has a story and meaning. 

The love talismans are really beautiful and have great messages. *Guys out there...perfect gift for your girlfriend/wife* Pyrrha is a little pricey but well worth it! I have the Carpe Diem (sieze the day) necklace and I love it. I can't wait to get another Pyrrha piece!!

WIPEOUT

SUMMER GUILTY PLEASURE......WIPEOUT!!!!! Thank you ABC for this amazing show! Basically the point of the show is to take 24 crazy contestants through a series of reallllllly fun looking obstacles. AWESOME!

By the end of the show theres only a few contestants left to go through the final challenge...THE WIPEOUT ZONE... and the winner of it all gets $50,000!!! I really want to sign up for the COUPLES WIPEOUT with Brock!!! WOO HOO!!!!

*AWESOME WEBSITE ALERT* So I really like to online shop...I mean its so easy, right?! Plus its convenient and you have the whole WORLD to look for the exact thing you want. Well, I stumbled upon this website a a year ago or so and its FABULOUS! 

Etsy is an online marketplace for artisans, crafters, etc. to sell their handmade goods and the prices are great. I especially like the jewelry but people sell clothes, pillows, artwork, really anything!! Plus there is a vintage section if you're looking for something unique and kind of retro. I've loved this site as a buyer, but if you're wanting to sell your own stuff...you should really check this out!

Does anyone out there buy or sell on Etsy? I'd love to know!

Happy Birthday, USA!!!

Happy 4th of July!!

Fireworks, watermelon, and softball games!!! I will probably just be getting to enjoy the watermelon because I'm still recovering from eye surgery. Boo! But atleast I can still eat all the yummy foods that make up 4th of July weekend. For example...

4th of July Waffles

This is from my Mom's kitchen and they are so yummy!

Make waffles as usual. This recipe is all about the decorating! Then using strawberries and whip cream, create the flag stripes. Using blueberries make the stars in the upper left corner of the waffle. And there you go, somewhat healthy waffles that look like little American flags!!

As we celebrate the anniversay of our Independence (234 year ago!!!), I hope you all are taking some time to remember how lucky we are to be Americans and to have so many freedoms and opportunities. Its also a time to remember, pray for, and honor all the soldiers and veterans who are giving (or have given) their lives for our country. We are so grateful to have such brave men and women!

Relaxation

I've officially made it through my eye surgery and am on the path to recovery!!! Yipee!!! Now I just need to rest, relax, and let my eye heal. I just wanted to thank you all for the support and prayers. The doctor said the surgery went according to plan and the post-op appointment went well too! Thanks again everyone!!
