GIRLS ON THE RUN

I'm currently training for my first Marathon Relay (I'm running the 10K leg) and at the same time raising money for Girls On The Run (GOTR). Basically GOTR is a non-profit program for girls ages 8-13 to promote healthy lifestyles, self-confidence, and training for a 3.1 mile race. Its all about inspiring young girls to feel good about themselves and offer support during the pre-teens years.

I've signed up to be a Solemate, which is the adult charity leg of GOTR that helps to raise money for local programs while also training for a race. My goal is to raise $300 by the end of May. Let's make it happen!!
Here is the link to donate My Fundraising Page .
Any amount would be wonderful!!!

Thank you!

Need A Little Inspiration?

I found this online at We Heart It (amazing photos if you haven't been there) and I just thought it really summed up a GREAT way to look at life. If you don't like your life, change it. And start doing things you love! Hope this brings you a little inspiration today! It sure did for me. Happy Saturday!! :-)

Just Get Away...

With Spring Break week around the corner (or for me, a long weekend) you probably have the travel bug and can't wait to just get away...and RELAX! Enjoy some time off not thinking about school or work or anything that brings you stress or worry.

Especially when the weather starts to warm up, I can't help but think about the places I'd love to go and things I'd love to see. It doesn't matter if its just outside your city or outside your country, sometimes you just need to get away!

Where are you getting away to this Spring??

INDOOR TRI

This morning my BF and I woke up at 6am...I know its Sunday and we woke up at 6AM!!! But it was all for a good reason...we both participated in our first Triathlon today!! WHOOP WHOOP!!! Its was an Indoor Tri...which is awesome since its around 32 degrees outside right now. Brrrr!!

What I loved about this tri was that each person gets to go at their own pace. Its all based on how much distance you can cover in a certain amount of time....Heres the break down....

10 mins - Lap Swimming
30 mins - Spinning Bike
20 mins - Treadmill Running

And you're done!! It was a blast and we're already planning our next one. And we'll definitely be training harder for the next one...I'm exhausted!!!

If you want to find one in your area..check out Indoor Tri. It doesn't matter what fitness level you're at because you go at your own pace. Plus its a great fitness activity to do with friends or family!!

Has anyone else done a Triathlon or Indoor Tri?!?

Happy Sunday everyone!!

Spring Makeup Picks

Yay for President's Day! I don't know about you all, but I am very happy to not have to work today and am thoroughly enjoying my day off. Finally I have a little time to write on my blog! I've missed you guys!!

Despite the fact that yesterdat was 71 degrees and today is about 35....I'm posting about Spring makeup!!! That day in the 70s was just enough enough of a tease to totally give me Spring fever!! I'm so over winter and ready for warmer weather. So with that, I want to share my favs for Spring...in makeup!

Clinique - Fresh Bloom All Over Colour in Plum Poppy - This is such a fun highlighting product! It also works as a very light blush. But it gives your skin this beautiful glowy look and catches the light without looking glittery. Just very natural and summery.

MAC - Penultimate Liner - One of my favs for a loooong time. Its the BEST liquid liner I've every used. Its basically a felt-tipped pen and is perfect for making that Marilyn classic look. If you want to give the illusion of your eye being a different shape, this is the perfect liner for you.

MAC - Lipglass/Lustreglass - Prrr and Wonderstruck - Just got these 2 new lip glosses and love them! I like to wear the Wonderstruck all over and then use Prrr on the center of my lips as a highlighter. It really gives this cute "Kim Kardashian" look. Its very natural and glossy. Yay!

SHATTER!

Finally got my hands on the OPI's new Black Shatter polish. It was paired up with "Simply Smashing" in the Serena Williams combo pack. And its included in the new Katy Perry collection (which I love). BUT back to Black Shatter, it looks just like plain black polish...but when painted over dried polish it dries into a crackled effect. Its gives your nails a little texture and lot of edge! Love it!! I've tried it over "Last Friday Night" and "Ate Berries in the Canaries" and it looks so hot on both. Definitely gives your nails a fresh new look!

If you're out there looking for Black Shatter...its so hard to find! If they're sold out at your local beauty supply shop, ask them when they plan on getting their next shipment. I called in and reserved mine because they have been continuously running out!

Plus I just heard that they're coming out with a "Silver Shatter" in May with the Pirates of the Caribbean collection. Yayy!!!
